A Little About Me

Starting from a very young age, I realized that grooming was going to be my passion and my career. It all started with adopting an English Springer Spaniel that was severely neglected. Although I was young, I knew that the kind of condition he came to us in was neither normal nor fair. Sitting on the ground in the garage, I took a pair of scissors, and the grooming process began. I started cutting the hair where the collar was, as the nylon collar was matted into the hair, then moved along to trimming the grinchy feet, trimming the matts out of the ears, and spent time gently taking out the burdocks, small twigs, and tiny burdock seeds from all over the body. It was at that point I knew that I wanted to become a dog groomer.

Later in my teenage years, an opportunity presented itself when a toy poodle became available for adoption. I jumped on the opportunity as I thought of all the fun colours and haircuts I could do with him. His name was Odie, and he wasn’t just a typical poodle. He was one that everyone got along with. He was very outgoing and energetic, and he wanted to participate in any activity. Whether it was loud, quiet, or chaotic, he was good to go wherever. He was very patient and allowed me to take grooming to the next level and assisted me in starting my grooming career. He has passed on due to heart disease, but his legacy still remains.

Any dog that comes into my salon gets treated like my own. Not all dogs enjoy being groomed, and some may have had bad experiences in the past, but I certainly try to change that view, which is why I wanted an “in-home salon." Putting myself in their shoes, when I want to go get pampered, I enjoy a relatable and familiar setting. I like the music or TV on in the background—a start-to-finish service using top-quality products. I want to get what I pay for. I want someone to care for me and provide support when needed. I want someone to know when I need a break and to top it off, and most importantly, I want someone with passion.

If this is what kind of atmosphere you would like for your fur baby, I welcome you!
